

    RCS Boeing 747 Style Panel
    
    For use with FS98 in 3DFX mode and other known modes
    Microsoft FS98 Converter **ESSENTIAL**

    This panel is graphic intensive, and is only for top end PC's. Slower machines
    will work but have a slow frame rate. It was built and tested on a PII 300mhz.
    
    This panel is especially designed to work with David Drouin's GPS98 v3.1 which has 
    to acquired sepaerately from http://www.flightsim.com, and if installed will automatically 
    place it's self in the correct location.

  The Weather Radar Gauge was modified by Roy Chaffin from a gauge designed by Guntram Strasser
  and is FREEWARE, however if you wish to use it in any product for financial gain,

1. Software Requirements

   To use this panel you NEED :

   1. Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 For Windows 95
   2. Microsoft FS98 Converter installed
   3. 3DFX Board or other 3d card is required for best performance 



2. Installation:
          

   Unzip RCS-4eng.zip to a Temporary folder, then proceed as follows:

   Copy the "RCS-4eng" folder into your converter folder (usually named FSFSConv and located in
   the "Aircraft" subfolder of your Flight Simulator).

   Copy the files contained in the "Gauges" folder into the Flight Simulator "Gauges" subfolder.

   To assign this panel to an aircraft, go to the aircraft folder you want to use this panel with,
   open the panel folder inside and then edit panel.cfg file to read:

   [fltsim]
   alias=FSFSConv\RCS-4eng

   Note, All other text in the panel.cfg file should be removed.



3. Notes About This panel:


    Note 1:  Although this panel is based on a B747 layout, it is not intended to be an accurate
             B747, it makes use of available gauges with a few alterations, and has been adapted
             for greater usability within FS98.

    Note 2:  This panel has three MFD's which are switchable, and one that is not.
             You have:- Moving Map, Weather Radar, Engine Instruments, Oil Gauges, and Checklists
             on the top right MFD. On the bottum left MFD:- Rose, Rose Arc. On the top left MFD
             you have a choice of ADI displays.
             All but one of these displays are changeable by clicking on a button with your mouse.

             You can toggle the "Weather Radar" on or off with the "WR" button.

             You can toggle the "Engine Instruments" on or off with the "ENG" button.

             You can toggle the "Oil Gauges" on or off with the "OIL" button.

             You can toggle the "Check Lists" on or off with the "CK" button.

             You can toggle the "ILS Rose" on or off with the "R" button.

             You can toggle the top left MFD for a larger instrument if you wish
             by pressing "Shift 8".
             
             You can place a MAP behind the Top Right MFD as a "Moving Map" Use "New View" "MAP"
             and place behind MFD. Then toggle "off" Weather Radar, Engine Instruments, Oil Gauges,
             and Check Lists.

   Note 3:   Toggling off the Weather Radar will increase the frame rate.                           
                               
                              
4.Registration:

    You do not need to register it, this software FREEWARE.
    If you like it use it, if not, delete it.

    Should you wish to modify or use the Weather gauge for commercial gain you must register it.
    Please see the details above.

    I accept absolutely no responsibility for YOUR use of this software.

5.Credits:

  Tracking down the author of each gauge etc. in this panel would take a lifetime, 
  so a general credit will have to suffice.

  this panel. Without their hours of hard work this panel would not have been possible.
